Babe Ruth - The Mexican
Mexico is hot in the race for entering the round of 16 at the Fifa World Cup of Football 2010 in South Africa. For that reason I am sharing my personal favorite sampled song, remix and cover of the b-boy classic The Mexican by 70s Rock band Babe Ruth. Also just found out that Babe Ruth actually sampled the 1968 "A Fistful of Dollars" / "For a Few Dollars More" soundtrack theme For a Few Dollars More by the Italian film music composer Ennio Morricone, who is still musically active.

Sampled Song
The Mexican got smapled by 80s Old School Hip Hop artists Jungle Brothers, Kool-S with Technolo-G, Grandmaster Melle Mel & The Furious Five, Afrika Bambaata, Kool Moe Dee and Organized Konfusion. The classic Funky Four smashed The Mexican on Feel It (The Mexican) into a Retro Disco Groove.

Remix
Earlier this year Deekline and Tim Healey bundled their UK breaks, bass and rave skills to pump up this 70s classic. A tropical 90s Old School remix got served last week by the fresh D-CUP and Yolanda Be Cool. Mister Krafty Kutz grabbed up the first remix and gave it an extra stimulus.

Cover
At first I thought this was just a remix, until I found I was listening to the best Mexican cover re-arranged on Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop's Stamp Out Reality LP featuring Sara de Bourgeois' vocals.
